Listed among the ’50 Great Day Trips’ in Chicago Magazine, Morris is just 60 minutes from downtown Chicago. Take exit 112 – Route 47, off of Interstate 80. Head south and find the downtown shopping district by taking any of the cross streets: Main Street, Jefferson Street or Washington Street. Turn one block west off to Liberty Street.

VETERANS LEGACY CENTER
While visiting Morris, be sure to make an appointment to tour the American Legion Post 294 Veterans Legacy Center. The museum has articles and exhibits spanning from the Civil War to today.
While visiting Morris, be sure to explore the town. Rent a bike and ride along the I&M Canal. Stroll down to the Illinois River waterfront. Shop, eat and enjoy nostalgic downtown. Camp in the Gebhard Woods State Park. Take a self guided walking tour. Visit museums. Take in a play. There are many adventures to be experienced in Morris.
